Symptom

A user or system reports a problem related to billing issues.

Likely causes

• A required secret, endpoint, metadata field, or permission is missing.
• The payload shape does not match the expected schema.
• A downstream provider, Slack workspace, or webhook consumer returned an error.
• A policy, budget cap, or approval workflow changed the expected behavior.

How to confirm

Open Developers > Logs & Traces and search with the most specific ID available: trace ID, gateway request ID, provider request ID, webhook delivery ID, or usage event ID.

How to fix

• Check the matching diagnostic card.
• Validate the payload, endpoint, or provider key.
• Retry only retry-safe operations.
• Store secrets server-side and rotate compromised values.
• Open the linked Costs, Alerts, Guardrails, or Integrations page when needed.

Escalation path

Export the relevant request IDs, timestamp, workspace, project, provider, and error code before contacting support.
